A lasting way to remember your loved one

Many families choose to invite donations in place of flowers, creating a special tribute to someone they loved.

Gifts given in memory help talented students access the training and support they need to fulfil their potential. In this way, your gift not only honours a cherished life, but also enables the next generation of musicians to grow and succeed.

Tribute pages

If your friend or family member enjoyed music, then one way to honour and remember them is to create a tribute page where people can make donations to the Academy. MuchLoved offers a dedicated space for family and friends to share photos, memories and messages.

Through MuchLoved, you can also create a funeral notice to share the date, time and location of the service, making it easier to inform everyone who wishes to attend or pay their respects.

When I first arrived at the Academy, I would never have thought that I would have been honoured with an award like this. I can’t say how grateful I am. It is so incredible to see musicians being supported here in London, and it is something I will never take for granted. Providing funding is an act of selflessness and kindness, and I will return this generosity by working hard to become the musician I always wanted to be.

Recognising your gift at the Academy

We will recognise your gift, and the person you are honouring, in several possible ways. Depending on the gift, these can include:

  • Inscribing your honouree’s name and a message in an in-memoriam book called Shining Light, which will be on display in the foyer of the Susie Sainsbury Theatre at the Academy.
  • Engraving your honouree’s name or a brief message on a wall plate in the Susie Sainsbury Theatre, or naming a seat after them in the theatre’s stalls or dress circle.
