Every Academy student is backed by a strong network that recognises the person as well as the musician.

We are here to support your physical and mental health throughout your studies and career.

Your First Port of Call: Tutors and Heads of Years

All Academy students are assigned a Head of Year (undergraduates) or Tutor (postgraduates). They are responsible for both your academic and pastoral welfare and can guide you through:

  • Performance and academic choices
  • Timetabling and overall progress
  • Any personal difficulties affecting your studies

Academy Counselling Service

If things get tough, our trained counsellors offer a safe, confidential space to listen without judgement. Our services are free of charge to all students. We can help you navigate difficult times, build psychological strength, and refer you to specialist external resources if needed. We also have Mental Health First Aiders available across the Academy.
