Further afield, Rob Madge has written the book and lyrics for new musical Bank of Dave, which will premiere at the Lowry (Salford) in May before moving to the Curve in Leicester. It was also recently announced that Rob will return to the London Palladium this Christmas, to play Sequins in Cinderella. Rob will perform alongside stars such as Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Julian Clary and more.
On the road, Rayhan Lee is performing in the UK tour of Miss Saigon, which recently featured on the recent National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals. James Lim is also on a UK and Ireland tour with Legally Blonde The Musical as Ensemble/1st Cover Emmett.
Musical Theatre alumni can also be seen on screen: Zheng Xi Yong recently appeared as Lord Barnaby in the fourth season of Netflix’s Bridgerton, and Fra Fee’s upcoming Netflix drama Unchosen comes to Netflix on 21 April.
The Academy offers congratulations to our students and alumni for their recent successes, and wishes them luck in the next step of their careers.
You can see the current Royal Academy Musical Theatre Company this summer in two new productions of passion, duty and loyalty - Little Women, based on Louisa May Alcott’s semi-autobiographical novel and Chess, the iconic musical by Benny Andersson, Tim Rice and Björn Ulvaeus.
