As a student, Timothy won the Dennis Brain Horn Prize and Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensemble Prize

Timothy has appeared as guest principal horn with many of the country’s top orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, English National Opera, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, and the London Sinfonietta.

Timothy has played on the original soundtracks for numerous films and TV shows with the Chamber Orchestra of London, Hilary Skewes, and Isobel Griffiths, including: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One; Downton Abbey; The Crown; Alien: Romulus; and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.

His solo career has included both recitals and concertos, with highlights including a solo recital appearance at the Leeds International Music Festival, and performing Mozart’s 4th Horn Concerto, conducted by Elgar Howarth. He is a keen chamber musician too and is a founding member of the Buck Brass Trio.

Timothy studied both the horn and the piano at the Royal Academy of Music, completing his undergraduate as a first study pianist under Carole Presland, and then his postgraduate as a first study horn player, studying with Michael Thompson, Richard Watkins, Martin Owen, and Roger Montgomery, graduating in 2017 with distinction, and in 2023 was awarded Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).
