Simon Minshall is a London-based bass and contrabass trombonist.

He holds both a BMus degree from the Academy and has completed the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) in Trombone Teaching.

Simon can be heard playing across multiple genres, having appeared at the Royal Ballet and Opera (formerly Royal Opera House), the London Symphony Orchestra, Ronnie Scott’s Big Band and on many film and television soundtracks. He also works extensively in the West End as a deputy and chair holder.

As an educator, Simon’s students have gone on to become members of major ensembles, including the National Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Brass Band. He has led masterclasses around the UK and internationally, in both Japan and the USA. Simon was previously President of the British Trombone Society, where he was an active member for over 15 years.
