Originally from the Netherlands, Marije studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester

She graduated with distinction in all her degrees and receiving the RNCM Gold Medal, the school’s highest honour.

Under the mentorship of Dr Christopher Rowland, Director of Chamber Music at the RNCM, Marije discovered her deep passion for chamber music and co-founded the acclaimed Navarra Quartet.

The quartet went on to achieve international recognition, winning top prizes at major competitions including Florence, Melbourne, and Banff, as well as receiving the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and the MIDEM Outstanding Artist of the Year Award. The quartet performed extensively across Europe, Australia, and the Far East.
