Katie is a freelance clarinettist based in London


Katie has a busy and varied freelance career playing as a guest in many of the country’s orchestras. She has extensive performing experience and works in ballet, opera, symphony and chamber orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and Chamber Orchestra of Europe, with conductors and directors including Joshua Bell, Leonidas Kavakos, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Antonio Pappano.

The orchestral career Katie now enjoys was founded on the valuable experience that she gained in the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Verbier Festival and Chamber Orchestras. Solo achievements include winning the Making Music Young Concert Artist in 2007 and performing in the woodwind finals the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2000.

Katie has wealth of teaching experience, including orchestral education projects and master classes. She joined the Junior Academy as a clarinet teacher in 2015.
