Julia Duschenes

Julia plays as a busy amateur in at least five different chamber groups and a local chamber orchestra.

After stints working in administration for Welsh National Opera and at Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers’ contemporary music department, Julia trained to be an Alexander Teacher at the Hampstead Alexander Centre and the London College for Alexander Technique and Teacher Training, graduating in 2003.

She has long experience of teaching musicians, young and old, having run regular series’ of workshops for Hertfordshire County Music Service both for their instrumental teachers and for their youth music groups, teaching children from 7 to 21 years of age.

Highlights

Learned violin with Herbert Whone and then, after gaining a music degree at Nottingham University, graduated onto the viola.

Lives and works in St Albans.
