John Caird

John Caird is a Tony and Olivier Award Winner working as a director and writer

John began working as a Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company in the late 1970s and collaborated with Trevor Nunn to adapt and direct the premiere of Les Misérables in the West End and Broadway.

He has consistently directed around the world in musical theatre, opera, and plays and has written librettos and additional lyrics for musicals such as Daddy Long Legs, The Knight's Tale, Little Miss Scrooge, and Jane Eyre.

His most recent productions include a stage adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away in Tokyo and on tour in the West End at the London Coliseum, Wagner’s Parsifal at Houston Grand Opera, and Monteverdi’s Orfeo at Garsington Opera.
