James Simmons

Acting Coach (Vocal Studies)

James Simmons is an accomplished actor, director, and acting tutor with an extensive career across stage and screen.

As an actor, his prestigious theatre credits include performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. In London's West End, he famously portrayed Scar in Disney's The Lion King, and appeared in major productions of The Tempest, The Rivals, and Hamlet. His film credits include roles in Les Misérables and Henry V, whilst his television appearances include popular British dramas such as Animal Ark, EastEnders, Brookside, and Trial & Retribution.

In addition to his acting career, James is an experienced director whose staging credits include Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Mysteries, and the opera La Traviata.

He also shares his industry expertise through teaching, having coached and mentored students at Eastern Connecticut State University, the National Youth Theatre, and the Royal Academy of Music.
