Helen George is a TV and stage actress, best known for starring as leading role & much-loved nurse Trixie Franklin in the BAFTA award-winning series Call the Midwife.

Further television credits include Red Dwarf (Dave), Over to Bill (BBC One), Dark Matters (Discovery) and Hotel Babylon (BBC One). Helen’s notable film credits include Paul W S Anderson's The Three Musketeers and Nativity Rocks.

On radio, Helen appeared alongside Toby Jones in BBC Radio 4's dramatisation of Penelope Fitzgerald's Human Voices and in Colin Bytheway's drama Departure on BBC Radio 4.

Helen has received critical acclaim for her varied stage credits, including Trevor Nunn's revival of Terrance Rattigan's Love in Idleness and in the title role of Patrick Marber's After Miss Julie, directed by Anthony Banks. Helen recently played the enigmatic Rachel in the Theatre Royal Bath's adaptation of My Cousin Rachel. Helen was also seen on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 where she reached the semi-finals. She then joined her fellow contestants on Strictly Live in 2016.
