George Cass

George is from Saffron Walden, Essex. He studied Natural Sciences at Durham University, where he also held the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Music. He frequently participated in the university theatre scene, from which some of his credits include Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera, Melchior in Spring Awakening, Kenickie in Grease and Alfred in Alice By Heart.

He was also a member of his university’s musical theatre troupe, performing with them at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, and winning the Best Soloist Award at the Inter-University Musical Theatre Festival in 2025.

George started singing choral music from the age of nine with his town’s church choir. He began classical singing tuition at the age of 12, and by 18 he had achieved his ATCL singing diploma. He was a member of the National Youth Choir from 2018 to 2023, where he had the opportunity to sing in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Snape Maltings and multiple cathedrals across the country. He also plays the violin and the double bass.
