Genevieve enjoys a versatile creative career as a cellist, teacher and researcher

She has performed as a chamber musician and in opera, ballet and orchestrally as principal, co-principal and tutti cellist in various venues in the UK, Europe, USA, North Africa and the Middle East.

Highlights include La Scala, Milan; Royal Opera House, Muscat, Oman; Elgar Room, Royal Albert Hall; Royal Festival Hall; Queen Elizabeth Hall; Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Italy; Lake District Summer Music Festival, UK; Chilingirian Mozart Festival, UK with artists including Tokyo Ballet; Bolshoi Ballet; Zubin Mehta; Woody Allen; Roberto Bolle; Manfred Honeck and Iván Fischer.

Genevieve studied at the Royal College of Music with Melissa Phelps where she was a Henry Wood award holder, before graduating in 2013 with first class honours. In 2016, she completed her Masters at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano, Switzerland studying with both Johannes Goritzki and Monika Leskovar, graduating with distinction. In 2019, Genevieve subsequently completed one year of intensive study with Natalia Gutman and Elizabeth Wilson at the Scuola di Musica Fiesole, Florence and successfully auditioned for the roster of Teatro alla Scala, Milan.

Genevieve has taught extensively in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the UK, coaching for the German Youth Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie München, receiving mentorship from members of the Bayerischer Rundfunk Orchester. She currently holds teaching positions at Alleyn’s School and Dulwich College, London for both cello and chamber music. She additionally coaches on Junior Musicworks, a chamber music course for young musicians and for South London Youth Orchestra.
