Charis Jenson

As a chamber musician and soloist, Charis has given recitals throughout the UK and internationally

Charis Jenson is a prizewinning graduate of the Royal College of Music, where she studied under a full scholarship with Maciej Rakowski and Yossi Zivoni. During this time she attended various courses and received chamber coaching from leading artists including Gabor Takasc-Nagy, Andras Keller, and the Chilingirian Quartet.

A keen chamber musician, Charis has performed throughout the UK and Europe in festivals including the Trondheim International Chamber Festival, the Rottweil Sommersprossen, and in concerts in Mainz, Rheinland Pfalz, at the opening of Kings Place, London and also as part of the PLG Young Artists Series. She leads the urban innovative music group, Project Instrumental, whose concert at London’s King’s Place, with Haushka and Nicolas Altstaedt as part of the Cello Unwrapped series, received rave reviews.

Having been a core member of the John Wilson Orchestra, Charis now plays with the Sinfonia of London under the the founder and conductor, John Wilson, and has received invitations to guest as Associate Leader with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the RTE Concert Orchestra, Ireland, among others.

Charis plays a Hendrik Jacobs violin from the 1680s, owned by Dr Michael and Jutta Wilson, kindly on loan from the Beares International Violin Society.
