Adam Hope
Choir & Voice Teacher (Junior Academy)
Adam Hope is a conductor and educator with a professional background as an organist and pianist
He works across universities, conservatoires and specialist choral programmes in the UK and abroad, focusing on musicianship and keyboard training in both teaching and conducting.
At the Royal Academy of Music, Adam teaches choral conducting, singing and keyboard skills, and conducts the choirs of the Junior Academy.
Alongside his work at the Academy, he coaches the organ scholars at Hertford College, Oxford University, and teaches keyboard skills to music students at Hertford and Keeble Colleges. He is also a singing teacher at Homerton College, Cambridge University, where he coaches choral scholars.
Adam leads workshops and professional training for singers, teachers and musicians. This includes international collaborations with the Golden Sail Choir from Beijing and projects in Brazil with Inspira-te. He also teaches A-level music, connecting school-level study with undergraduate training.
Previous appointments include Head of Choral Development at Peterborough Cathedral, Lecturer at Kingston University, and Musicianship Lead for the National Youth Choirs, where he designed national training programmes.
In addition to his teaching and conducting, Adam works as an organist and pianist, appearing as both a solo and collaborative artist. He holds the ARCO diploma and studied at Kingston University, graduating with a first-class Bachelor of Music degree with honours and receiving both the Music Prize for Academic Excellence and the Composition Prize. He later completed an MA by Research focusing on the music of Olivier Messiaen, and subsequently received the Cecilia Vajda Memorial Scholarship from the British Kodály Academy.
