Composition

A four-year undergraduate degree programme designed to prepare you for the professional world and equip you with the skills you will need to work in a broad range of musical genres and disciplines.

For those who have completed secondary school and wish to spend a year at the Academy before full-time undergraduate study, or who want Academy training without a full degree.

An intensive one-year PGCert course. Normally a two-year programme but can be taken in one year. For postgraduate students who cannot meet the academic entrance requirements for a Master's.

A two-year Level 8 course bridging to professional work. Demands high autonomy and initiative, supporting the development of industry-related skills tailored to your profile, with programme supervision and one-to-one lessons.

Follows the same programme as the MA but with a Masters project. Most select this two-year MMus option for extra classes, project support and potential doctoral study.

Composition students normally study on a two-year Master's course but, in exceptional circumstances, can take it in one year.

Follows the same programme as the MMus, but without the addition of a Masters project. Most students select the two-year MMus option for extra classes and support.

An intensive one-year Master of Arts course. Students normally study on a two-year Master's course but, in exceptional circumstances, can take it in one year (intensive).

Provides a collaborative environment for musicians to share and critique working practices. Offers an integrated PhD degree over four years, with an MPhil exit option after two years.
