Julia Klimek graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in 2020

Polish-born pianist Julia Klimek, recent First Prize winner in the Piano category at the Wales International Piano Festival, was described as “flamboyant” by The Guardian following her debut at Wigmore Hall.

As a result of this outstanding critical success, she was invited to mark the Weinberg Centenary at the University of Manchester and to perform alongside the cellist Adrian Brendel and the Australian-born conductor, writer and broadcaster Professor Raymond Holden AM.

Klimek’s performances have resonated internationally and have captivated audiences in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Canada and the Czech Republic among others. She has also played to enthusiastic audiences at Venice’s Fenice Palace and Ukraine’s Lviv Philharmonic Hall.

In 2020, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction and was awarded the DipRAM for outstanding performance in a final recital and the Regency Award in recognition of her consistently exceptional level of achievement. Whilst at the Academy, she initiated the Student Union Choir and was the founder of the ISH Concert Series at the International Students House, London.

Since September 2023, she has been the artistic director of The Musicians of London, an ensemble that brings together outstanding young professional musicians from across the globe. With this group, she has performed and explored a plethora of different repertoires and art forms. These explorations have resulted in collaborations with guests from leading academic, dance, theatre and visual-arts organisations.

Klimek has a special affinity with painting, poetry and ballet, and is now particularly sought after for her readings of music from the late 19th and 20th centuries and the works of female composers. She is also a passionate educator and is currently a member of the Junior Royal Academy of Music’s teaching staff. She is also regularly invited to give masterclasses around the world and is a jury member for a number of international music competitions.
