Alex Thorndike studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Alex graduated in 1995 and was immediately offered a full time job with the Halle. In 1999 he moved to the BBC to be a Principal Viola with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He has played all over the world.
He is increasingly in demand and teaches at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Wells Cathedral School and Junior Academy at the Royal Academy of Music.
He coaches on many courses, including National Strings and the National Youth String Orchestra.
Alex has a very successful, long track record of teaching viola players of the very highest calibre.
