Echoes of the Guitar

A project exploring the sound, performance and cultural history of the guitar through the lens of early recording practices. Inja Stanović, Senior Researcher at the University of Surrey, demonstrates an early phonograph, by recording student guitarists directly onto wax cylinders live on stage. These short recording sessions will be interspersed with commentaries.
