These requirements are for students auditioning to start their studies at the Academy in September 2022. Until specified otherwise, these requirements also apply for auditions in future years. Some audition requirements may change: please check back here regularly. You are welcome to contact the Admissions Team (admissions@ram.ac.uk) or the department administrator (opera@ram.ac.uk) if you have any queries.
You should prepare four contrasting operatic arias in a variety of languages, one of which must be sung in English or English translation.
The opera auditions take place in two separate rounds, a video round and a recall.
1 October: application deadline in UCAS Conservatoires
29 October, 16:00 UK time: deadline to upload videos into the Acceptd portal, details are on our video auditions page. You will need to create a profile in the Acceptd portal into which you upload your audition recordings and your Spoken English item.

You will be contacted in the week commencing 15 November and we will tell you if you have been selected for recall. The recall process will take place in December at the Academy, or online if there are travel restrictions.
The recall panel will select one aria from the remaining two arias in your list. You will choose the second aria, which can be from your first submission, or it can be the fourth aria.
Written requirements
You are not required to submit written work for this course.

We audition everyone who applies on time and pays their application and assessment fee.
