Ignacio Molins

Born in Valencia in 1978, Ignacio started his musical training in Spain and continued his studies in Amsterdam and in London at the Royal Academy of Music

During his studies he was a member of both the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester. He is currently a freelance percussionist and timpanist in the UK and has worked with many of the leading professional orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. Ignacio has worked with the majority of Spain’s professional orchestras, has been Guest Principal Timpanist with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and has worked with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam.

As a soloist Ignacio has given recitals at a variety of venues including the National Portrait Gallery and Bush Hall in London. Ignacio has collaborated with the Camberwell Composers Collective on several new commissions for solo percussion and has performed with them at the Aldeburgh Festival and the IF-Festival in London.
