Iain Ledingham conducts Bach's Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen! - Academy Baroque Orchestra and Chorus

Our Historical Performance and Vocal departments teamed up to perform the cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, BWV 51, by JS Bach, conducted by Iain Ledingham.

This video is of the final ‘Alleluja’, with a rich trumpet and voice duet performed by Tom Freeman-Attwood and Lina Dambrauskaitė.

This was one of the last concerts in the acclaimed Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series, which ran from 2009 to 2018. The Bach tradition at the Academy continues today with a new long-term project, ‘Bach the European: from Ancient Cosmos towards Enlightenment’. These creatively programmed concerts examine the context of Bach’s music in 18th-century Europe, using themes such as politics, drama and liturgy.
