An afternoon of rolling chamber music in the David Josefowitz Recital Hall, showcasing an important part of Academy pianists’ musical lives and training.

The Nivori Piano Trio pair two important works. Beethoven’s E flat piano trio is one of the most lovable – as well as one of the most subtle – of all his chamber works, recalling the mellow, intimate tone of his A major cello sonata. Fauré’s late trio, written at the age of 75, includes revelatory wisdom as well as the joyful celebration of the finale. The Estuary Trio showcase Amy Beach’s deep romanticism, along with Schumann’s challenging, tragic and ultimately life-affirming work.
