The Glover-Edwards Conducting Programme is aimed at women conductors to bridge the gap between undergraduate and postgraduate study.

The programme is for women who are considering applying for a Master’s in orchestral conducting in the UK or abroad. Led by Sian Edwards, Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, and including masterclasses with Jane Glover and Alice Farnham.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025/26 PROGRAMME ARE NOW OPEN

To apply for the Glover-Edwards Conducting Programme please send the following via email:

  • CV / Resume – to include a brief break down of education, qualifications and previous occupations.
  • Cover Letter – one side of A4, detailing why you would like to be a part of this programme.

Any applications received after this date will not be considered. Successful candidates will be informed by mid-July.

The first weekend of the programme will take place from Friday 5 September to Sunday 7 September at the Royal Academy of Music, with three further weekends in October, November and January 2026.

The fee for the first weekend is £150, with generous bursaries available. There is no fee for existing Academy students. If you are selected for part two of the programme, there is no fee.

We will make substantial contributions to all travel and accommodation expenses for participants.
