As a student, Timothy won the Dennis Brain Horn Prize and Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensemble Prize.

As a young freelance horn player, Timothy has appeared as guest principal horn with many of the country’s top orchestras, including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the Philharmonia Orchestra, English National Opera, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Sinfonietta.

He has also worked with other orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra, City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and Aurora Orchestra, as well as working on film/TV sessions with Isobel Griffiths Ltd. and the Chamber Orchestra of London. His solo career has included both recitals and concertos, with notable concerts including a solo recital appearance at the Leeds International Music Festival, as well as performing Mozart’s 4th Horn Concerto with the Kingfisher Sinfonietta, conducted by Elgar Howarth. Also a keen chamber musician, Timothy is a founding member of the Buck Brass Trio.

Timothy studied at the Royal Academy of Music, completing his undergraduate as a first study pianist under Carole Presland, and then his postgraduate as a first study horn player, studying with Michael Thompson, Richard Watkins, Martin Owen, and Roger Montgomery, graduating in 2017 with distinction.

His achievements at the Royal Academy of Music include winning both the Dennis Brain Horn Prize and the Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensemble Prize (with Buck Brass Trio) whilst still a first study pianist.

Timothy’s studies were gratefully supported by a Countess of Munster ‘Star’ Award, the Philharmonia Orchestra / Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, where he was the 2015/16 recipient of the Oliver Green memorial horn award, as well as a Royal Academy entrance scholarship.

Away from music, Timothy is a keen photographer, running a small professional portrait service for musicians, as well as being a keen windsurfer – enjoying travelling down to the coast for this on a windy day!
