Steven is internationally acclaimed as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher

He is a professor of cello at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, where he has received the Eisenhardt Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has given masterclasses and served as guest teacher at the International Cello Festival in Manchester, and is a visiting professor at the Academy.

His international concert schedule has taken him to Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, and London. In North America, highlights of recent seasons include recitals in Boston, Chicago and Washington DC, and concerto performances with the Rochester Philharmonic, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Omaha Symphony and the Victoria Symphony.
