Piran Legg is a highly regarded voice teacher and has worked with a wide range of singers in his studio

Piran studied as a postgraduate singer and member of the opera course at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He maintains his successful freelance career as an operatic bass-baritone.

Piran’s has worked with singers who have performed at major concert venues, including The Royal Opera House, Opera North and English National Opera, taking great delight in helping young singers unlock their full potential. Students can expect a nurturing, evidence based approach to their physiological development focusing on the fundamentals of support and alignment, as well as bespoke guidance on their artistry in performance. Piran has worked at The University of Birmingham, Shrewsbury School and as a guest teacher at RNCM and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Junior departments. He maintains a private voice studio in his home town of Shrewsbury.

Piran has been described as having 'a handsome baritone' by Opera Magazine and as a ‘sensitive performer’ by the Times. His wide ranging career has encompassed solo operatic roles with the likes of Scottish Opera, Garsington Opera and Wexford Festival. As well as performing standard repertoire from the works of Puccini, Verdi, Mozart and Britten, Piran has also loved premiering contemporary work, most notably as a soloist with The London Symphony Orchestra.

As a concert and recital soloist, Piran continues to perform oratorio works with choirs and orchestras around the country and internationally. He has sung in song recitals at the likes of the Barbican Theatre, The Oxford International Song Festival and the Cheltenham Festival, working with some of the nations’ most renowned accompanists.
