Nathan is currently studying Musical Directing and Coaching at the Royal Academy of Music. He previously graduated with a first-class Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he principally studied piano performance, alongside conducting, arranging, orchestration, and music technology.
With a keen interest in education, Nathan has consistently worked with performing arts institutions across Scotland as an MD, accompanist and vocal coach, including iNTER Performing Arts Academy and the Dance School of Scotland's Musical Theatre Course.
Nathan has a passion for amateur dramatics and local theatre, and is a sought-after Musical Director and keyboard player across Scotland's central belt. Recent MD and Assistant MD credits include Rent (East Kilbride Village Theatre), Scenes from Phantom of the Opera (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), and Kiss Me, Kate (NYMT).
Other recent work includes orchestration for the New Wave Orchestra, music preparation for Imagine Theatre's 2024 pantomime season, MD for Scottish duo the Bonnie Boys, and playing keys for Glasgow-based Steely Dan tribute band Desperate Dan.
Nathan is proudly supported by the McGlashan Charitable Trust, Help Musicians — where he holds the Lesley Hayes Award for Musical Directors — and the Tomoro Foundation Award at the Royal Academy of Music.
