An Academy alumna, she is active as a soloist and chamber musician

Freelance orchestral player with CBSO, the Philharmonia, BBCSO and others

After graduating in music from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, Joanna completed her MA at the Royal Academy of Music in 2010 with distinction

Currently she is working as an active solo, chamber and orchestral musician, making regular performances with her bassoon quartet ‘Bassoonatics’ and her duo partner Lynn Carter.

Joanna’s main enthusiasm is for orchestral playing, which began during her time as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Whilst enjoying a busy schedule freelancing with ensembles including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Joanna also enjoys her work teaching at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and coaching the bassoons in the National Children’s Orchestra.
