Charlie is a British-Sri Lankan performer who grew up in Zimbabwe, where he first discovered his love for music and singing.
Charlie recently completed a BA in Music at Durham University, during which he took part in numerous productions, such as Into The Woods, Rent, and Romeo & Juliet, as well as three national and international Shakespeare tours with Castle Theatre Company. He also reviewed many productions, writing for the student newspapers Indigo Palatinate and DST First Night.
Outside of the theatre, Charlie was the Bass Choral Scholar at Newcastle Cathedral, as well as the conductor and Musical Director of Foot Notes A Cappella. In his final year, Charlie was awarded a Full Palatinate Award for Outstanding Achievement and Contribution across Music and Theatre.
Charlie is a recipient of the Help Musicians' Ian Fleming Musical Theatre Award and the Wayne Sleep Foundation Award, and he is grateful for the invaluable assistance both of these have provided in this year of training.
