Anson Wong is rapidly emerging as one of Hong Kong’s most exciting young pianists

Winner of the Third Prize and Beethoven Prize at the 2025 Dublin International Piano Competition, Anson has performed in major cities including London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Vienna, and Salzburg. His performances have been broadcast by Radio Television Hong Kong, tvN Korea, and RTÉ Ireland, with recent highlights including the RTHK Beethoven 32 Project, the HKAPA Rachmaninov Festival, and a live televised performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.

A versatile performer, Anson has appeared as concerto soloist with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and the Academy Symphony Orchestra of the HKAPA. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with distinguished artists including Jonas Alber, Nikki and Timothy Chooi and Ju-Young Baek.

Anson is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Royal Academy of Music Beethoven Piano Prize, Royal Academy of Beethoven Piano Concerto Prize, and the Delius Prize, as well as top prizes at the Chopin International Piano Competition in Asia and the Ishikawa International Piano Competition. He has participated in major international festivals such as the Salzburg Mozarteum International Summer Academy and has been mentored by pianists including Boris Berman, Robert Levin, Steven Osborne, Imogen Cooper, and Pascal Rogé.

Born in Hong Kong, Anson studied at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Gabriel Kwok, graduating with First-Class Honours. He completed his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music with Christopher Elton, supported by The Muriel, Lady Kadoorie Music Scholarship and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund. A Sir Elton John Global Exchange Scholar and Aud Jebson Fellow, he is now a PhD candidate at the Academy.
