This week we hosted another of our #200Pieces performances online as a virtual premiere. Student Jack Thomas performed a new work for the drums entitled 200 Eighths, written by his father and Academy Honorary Associate John Ashton Thomas. Written to mark our Bicentenary in 2022, John’s piece is fittingly exactly 200 eighth notes long.

Last week Academy students participated in the digital Urdd Eisteddfod in the instrumental 19-25 category.

First place was awarded to harp student Aisha Palmer.
