2019 graduate, Olivier Award nominee and recent ARAM recipient Rob Madge (pictured left) will star as the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club from the end of May to September. Furthermore, Rob's award-winning show My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?) will have a three night run at the New York City Center in June, following its Turbine Theatre debut in 2021, a successful run in the Udderbelly in 2022 and two subsequent West End seasons.
This week, alum Stephenson Ardern-Sodje made his West End debut as he rejoined the cast of The Lion King as Simba, having previously played the role on the UK and Ireland tour. He performs in the production at the Lyceum Theatre until September alongside fellow alum Merryl Ansah, who already stars in the role of Nala.
The new cast for the hit West End musical Operation Mincemeat at the Fortune Theatre has been announced, with alumni Alex Young and Roshani Abbey taking up the two lead roles. The start date for the new cast is yet to be announced, but we look forward to seeing Academy graduates representing two fifths of the cast on stage for this show.
Finally, recent graduate Maya Kristal Tenenbaum is joining the UK tour company of Fiddler on the Roof as an offstage swing and cover for the role of Tzeitel. This production appears at the Barbican Centre for an eight week run between the end of May and July.
