Catrin Finch, Head of Harp, writes:
'We recently lost the esteemed harpist and teacher Daphne Boden, and she will be greatly missed within the Academy's harp community. A professor at the Academy between the years of 1988 and 2002, she was a sincerely dedicated teacher and guided many young harpists into the profession. Daphne was a member of the World Harp Congress board of directors for many years and was a great supporter of the United Kingdom Harp Association. She devoted her whole life to the harp world, and, at the height of a busy solo performing career, was invited to start teaching at the Royal College of Music, a role she held for 55 years. Alongside these roles, Daphne also taught at The Purcell School.
'Daphne was always immensely proud of her students achievements and has left behind a teaching legacy that will not be matched by many.'
