After two days of auditions, where eight finalists competed for the position, Enyi was chosen as the winner by BSO musicians. The role of Calleva Assistant Conductor provides young conductors with a platform to build professional experience and development, with mentoring from some of the world's leading names in classical music.

Enyi is currently studying at the Academy with Sian Edwards, and will graduate this summer. He is also Conductor-in-Residence with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, alongside positions with Camden Youth Choir, Elysium Music, ARK Music and Havant Symphony Orchestra.

Enyi takes over the role from recent Academy Conducting graduate Tom Fetherstonhaugh, and will be working with Academy alumni Mark Wigglesworth and Chloé van Soeterstède who also join the BSO's artistic team in the upcoming season.

'I’m so looking forward to the year ahead and working with these amazing musicians, who have shown so much warmth towards all of us finalists this week. To have the opportunity to work regularly with a professional orchestra of this calibre is such an amazing experience — I can’t wait!'
