Arnau introduces this new piece:

“My piece ‘Crim Perfecte’ was initially inspired by the homonymous surrealist painting by Àngel Planells. Later on, my readings of Jean Baudrillard's ‘Le crime parfait’ provided me a framework with which to structure the piece ontologically.

The piece was written as part of the Lucerne Festival Composers' Seminar, led by Wolfgang Rihm and Dieter Ammann. The first week of the course consisted of lessons with the faculty and a series of presentations and discussions of our music. During that time, we met many well-known musicians and visiting artists in the festival and also attended concerts. The second half of the course focused on our pieces, leading to a premiere by the participants of the Lucerne Festival Academy.”
