Dr Rubens Askenar (PhD, Mmus, Bmus, PgCert, ARAM) is a Canarian composer and researcher based in London. His professional activities coalesce an active career as a freelance composer with that of a pedagogical role as Professor of Composition at the Academy. His creative output encompasses all kinds of genres and forms, emerging from the experimentation and creation of compositional models based on multi-instrumental practice and technological development.
His works have been performed extensively worldwide, at international festivals such us Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), reMusic (Moscow), MATA (New York) Sampler series (Barcelona), amongst many others.
