The music of British composer Richard Bullen explores space, sonority and performance through richly intricate projects that incorporate music, theatre, film and live action. He studied at the Academy with David Sawer, graduating with a PhD, having been awarded the Alan Bush Composition Prize. In 2019 he was made an Associate (ARAM). He also studied with Peter Maxwell Davies at Dartington Summer School.

Pieces include Steradian for 12 trombones and torch beams premiered at the International Trombone Festival, Iowa, USA, and Jupiter for spatial amplified string quartet with live visuals performed by the Ligeti Quartet at Planetariums around the UK. His music is published by Stainer & Bell and Composers Edition.
