Sarah Angliss is a composer, performer and robotic artist whose music explores the sonorities of voices and acoustic instruments, revealing and augmenting them with her distinctive, live electronic techniques. She creates music for film, opera and the live concert stage and theatres throughout Europe and North America.

Sarah’s music draws on her lifelong interest in European folksong, cybernetics and esoteric sound culture. Her work reflects an eclectic musical background. A classically-trained composer who specialised in Baroque and Renaissance music, Sarah’s desire to get inside notes and finely manipulate sound led her to study electroacoustic engineering and robotics alongside music, fields that continue to inform her unique compositional style.

Sarah received a Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers in 2018. In 2021 she received an Ivor Novello Visionary Award for body of work.
