Òscar Colomina i Bosch is Dean of the Reina Sofía School. He has held distinguished positions in the UK as Director of the Menuhin School and as a professor at the Academy.

He trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Academy with Malcolm Singer and Simon Bainbridge.

Commissioned by the Menuhin Competition, Shpigl (2016) was described by American composer John Adams as 'a small masterpiece of musical and dramatic imagination' and, after an invitation from Los Angeles Phil, it received its US premiere at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Other commissions include the Aldeburgh Festival, Philharmonia Orchestra, Iturbi International Piano Competition, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Ensems Festival, Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical, Orchestra of the Swan and the Schubert Ensemble.

His music has been performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Filharmonia de Galicia, Trío Arbós and Grup Instrumental de València among others, in venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Yale and New York Universities, Palau de la Música de Valencia and Auditorio de Galicia.

Òscar is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
