Students Create 2026

The 2026 Students Create festival sees Academy students taking over performance venues from lunchtime into the evening over the course of three days. This year’s line-up includes a new interpretation of Orpheus and Eurydice, a concert exploring the history of asylum seekers and a celebration of Morton Feldman’s 100th birthday. The festival will feature 17 world premieres by students from multiple departments.

A Series of Apologies

This concert presents four dynamic works that offer sharp, creative perspectives on pop culture through contemporary classical, electronic, theatrical, and multimedia styles. 'A Series of Apologies' satirically critiques celebrity apologies, while 'Doomscroll' explores the hypnotic pull of social media. 'Conduit' delves into the gestures and energy of digital data transfer, and 'Tritato' reimagines the iconic boom-bap sound of 1990s hip-hop. Together, these pieces form a vivid, cohesive reflection on how pop culture shapes, amplifies, and distorts modern experience, creating a programme that is both musically adventurous and deeply relevant to younger audiences.
