LAURIE RICH For A World That Could Be

“In Between the Sky and Earth Exists…” is a collaborative ensemble that explores the colliding worlds of classical chamber music and modern jazz, through the medium of free improvisation and French impressionism. The nonet ensemble includes a String Quartet and a Quintet consisting of rhythm section and two horns. The music (written by Academy student Laurie Rich, alongside arrangements of his favourite composers) will explore themes of that which flies above us to that which grounds us in the earth beneath our feet. This concert presents the challenges faced by our generation to battle the impending ecological disaster.
