PhD composer-performer Ashkan Layegh presents Ephemerality and Recurrence, a multimedia piece for three quartets: a string quartet, the Phemo Quartet (alto saxophone, electric bass, drums and piano) and a ‘screen’ quartet, comprising visuals, illustrations, anecdotes and process notes. The work is essentially three different pieces in one, where each medium has its own independent space of exploration while remaining in constant interplay with the others.
