FRANKLIN ONYESO Concerto for Violin: Dulce et decorum est
STRAVINSKY The Soldier's Tale

A century ago, Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale and Wilfred Owen's Dulce et Decorum Est emerged out of the shadows of the First World War, exploring themes of futility, violence, and disappointed hopes that resonate powerfully today.
Join Ensemble Iris, a chamber collective performing large-scale conducted works, for a programme telling these stories through spoken word, movement, and music. Opening with the world premiere of Franklin Onyeso's Concerto for Violin: Dulce et Decorum Est, featuring Ensemble Iris' leader, Agatha Parkin, as violin soloist, this concert closes with a semi-staged performance of Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale.
