Programme Details
This year sees the now well-established Academy Jazz Festival celebrate its 12th year. This intensive week of projects has become a highlight of the academic year, with students working alongside guest artists who lead small ensembles in performances of their own music. Each concert showcases the music of three guest bandleaders.
This year, we look forward to the first appearances from two British rising stars of the international jazz scene, saxophonist Alice Leggett and recent graduate and trumpeter Alexandra Ridout, as well as award-winning saxophonist Binker Golding. Piano legends and Academy alums Gwilym Simcock and Kit Downes return, and iconic saxophonist Julian Argüelles makes his debut at the festival.
