Yan Pascal Tortelier conducts Saint-Saëns - Academy Symphony Orchestra

At the organ was Joseph Beech, a scholarship student at the time, now a professional organist working at Durham Cathedral.

Symphony No 3 by Saint-Saëns, known as just the Organ Symphony, is one of the most popular works for organ and orchestra. Fun fact: the chorale theme features heavily in the instrumental music to the hit 1995 film Babe, based on the children’s novel by Dick King-Smith.
