Edward Gardner conducts The Rite of Spring - Royal Academy of Music and The Juilliard School Orchestra

In the third collaboration between the Royal Academy of Music and The Juilliard School orchestras, Edward Gardner leads a rehearsal of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring in the Academy’s Duke’s Hall.

The full programme, performed at the BBC Proms 2019, included Anna Thorvaldsdottir's Metacosmos and Academy Visiting Professor James Ehnes performing Britten’s Violin Concerto. The Guardian described the concert as ‘electrifying’ and The Strad commented that ‘A riotous Rite of Spring gave the youthful orchestra further opportunity to demonstrate its unfailing mix of fastidiousness and fire.’
