The Academy’s Principal Guest Conductor, Trevor Pinnock, conducts Haydn’s Symphony no.47 as part of our project to perform all of the composer’s symphonies. Accompanying this work are selected movements from Beethoven’s ballet Die Geschöpfe des Prometheus, which introduced the composer to the Viennese stage in 1801 and was inspired by the Titan from Greek mythology who brought fire to mankind.
