Soundbox is a series of events inspired by the Academy’s Museum and collections.
Presented by Peter Sheppard Skærved, violinist and Viotti Lecturer, the events explore the historical and contemporary relationships between performers, composers, instruments and instrument-makers.

Dr Michael Alec Rose, from the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, discusses his extraordinary work rooted in the landscape and history of Dartmoor with Peter Sheppard Skærved. What happens when we walk, look and listen? What emerges? What happens to our collaboration when its context is vast and ancient?
