All Academy students are assigned a personal tutor for the duration of their studies.

Your Tutor will have overall responsibility for monitoring your courses and for your general pastoral care.

Your tutors will be available to discuss anything about your time at the Academy. If you have a problem, your tutor will usually be the first point of contact. Tutors can assist and guide you in all areas of your studies, including:

  • performance and academic options
  • timetabling
  • progress
  • any other aspect of your programme of study.

With responsibility for both academic and pastoral welfare, your Tutor works closely with your Head of Department and teachers to monitor every aspect of your overall progress. Your Tutor is an important link between you, your Head of Study, your Professors and Music Board (the Academy’s executive academic body), and at the annual Examination Boards.
